Fred Hobby is a national thought leader on the subject of diversity in healthcare management. The former President of the Institute for Diversity for Healthcare Management, Mr. Hobby has played a crucial role in helping expand the ranks of diversity candidates in senior management positions.
He retired from that position last year.
In this the first of two podcasts, Fred details his path from a senior hospital operations executive to the role of Chief Diversity Officer of one of the largest teaching hospital systems in the south.
He also shared that progress in expanding the ranks of diversity candidates at the senior leadership level stalled out in 2012. In fact, the numbers of minority executives has declined. There have been no appreciable gains since then. Moreover, there are no clear-cut reasons for this surprising change.
Listen in as Fred shares some important insights on leading diversity initiatives.
