PRODUCER’S NOTE:  There is a fine line between being confident, arrogant, pompous, or cocky in a job interview. Just be sure you stay on the right side of the line! John shares an important rule to remember

Being scary smart, competent, and successful – the trifecta for job seekers — is trumped by an unbecoming human frailty. Arrogance.

Add pompous to arrogance, and it is a dead-bang certainty you will be eliminated from most of the jobs for which you interview.

Not to beat a critical recurring theme into the asphalt, but it is not how smart or successful you are. It is about how you communicate who you are, your values, and how you treat people.

Today many companies are being hammered by the cost and service disruptions of the Great Resignation. More than 4 million people quit each month, and most are getting better jobs for more money, better conditions. and enhanced benefits. So, how you come across to potential employers is relevant.

Do not forget this important rule when preparing for your next job interview – employers hire people they like and trust.
