PRODUCER’S NOTE:

Nothing happens in life until someone sells something. Now that IS an immutable truth. Looking for a job is a full-on sales event. You must differentiate your value and sell the employer that you are the right person for their job. Check out this 60-second video for some great insight.

What’s your sales tagline?

I was listening online to my favorite classical music station in London. I heard an ad for gourmet chef-prepared takeout food.  At the end of the advert, the Chef says, “Obsession is my secret ingredient.”

In the go-go boom days in Houston, one bank system’s tag was a simple Yes!

Perennial number 2 in car rentals, Avis: “We’re number 2. We try harder.”

In the 1960s, a US airline painted its airplanes in bright colors, trying to differentiate. They gussied up their cabin service.  Their tag: “The end of the plain plane.”  They became the talk of the entire industry.

In an era where your success will depend on knowledge, performance, and your ability to communicate your value, what is your tag line? What will you say that is memorable?

Everyone has a story to tell.  In that story is a tagline.  What’s yours?
