As the employment picture continues to improve, I have received several questions regarding recruiters and the recruitment process. Here is an example:
Scam artists, regrettably, are as American as apple pie. So it is not surprising, with an improving job market and millions of workers still pounding the pavement trying to re-enter the workforce, that scammers would enter and complicate this picture.
Beware.
“I spoke with a recruiter for the first time today. He says he wants to put me up for a nice management position. He asked for my references and my driver’s license, and social security numbers to complete a standard background check before he could submit my resume. I was uncomfortable. What should I do?”
