Too many job applicants shoot themselves in the foot in a job interview by not selling themselves – connecting their skills, experience and success with the needs of the prospective employer.
Conversely, there are applicants who step in it by appearing too confident. So how do you sell yourself without appearing too arrogant?
Arrogance is never a nice trait. We are all guilty of that at one time or another in our lives, professionally and personally. But one can be confident without coming across as cocky and arrogant.
The secret to finding the right balance is to begin each day with a journal entry about that which you are grateful for. You see, gratitude is a powerful force to help you overcome disappointments but it also is extremely helpful in balancing your confidence.
Grateful people are not arrogant.
