The job market game known as the Great Resignation has transformed into the game of musical chairs.
Those who insist on continuing to play may well find themselves with no place to sit when the music stops. The job market is changing. In the past month over 1 million jobs have been pulled from as companies freeze hiring and eliminate unfilled positions.
Confident tech industry workers who have never known tough economic times, are going to be shocked when first they lose their generous bonuses, then concierge services, flexible work time and free gourmet meals in the company cafeteria or corporate food court and finally their actual jobs.
It won’t happen to me is a bad defense. It is time to be prepared.
