Video interviews are here to stay. By all accounts, video usage is increasing, owing to recruiting sites like Indeed, which have integrated video interviewing functionality to save time for employers.
Here are four ways you can become a more attractive “video applicant”
- Use your laptop or iPad versus a cell phone.
- Ensure your computer camera is at eye level or slightly above. Use books or build a box to elevate your laptop. Do not tilt your screen to improve the video framing. That framing is unflattering.
- Invest in a good light. Halo lights are ideal. Badly lit applicants can look haggard.
