Question One: Why should I waste my time creating a career plan since everything will change?
Question Two: As the CEO of a $50 million a year business, would you tell your Board that you will not waste your time developing a strategic plan because everything will change?
Of course not, because it is a fact that businesses that fail to plan are, in reality, planning to fail.
Here is another reason to develop your career plan: Research shows that people who commit their plans — their goals and aspirations to paper — are more likely to move outside their comfort zone. They will push themselves further and achieve more than those who don’t.
It is incredible what you can accomplish if you just dream big and push the boundaries of your comfort zone.
Do not be that person who sadly arrives at their retirement day with a boatload of regrets.
