When it comes to your current job, should you stay, or should you go?
The Great Resignation in which millions of American workers have resigned their jobs for greener pastures is likely to continue over the next two to three quarters. So, there is still time to test your value in a market.
Here are three factors you should consider:
- It is better to run to something versus running from something. Do your homework to ensure that the next better job is, in fact, a better deal.
- Be professional and be skeptical. If your current employer hasn’t valued your work during the past two or three years but suddenly counters with a very attractive package, you should ask, why did you wait?
- Understand all the issues. Even if your stated motive is more money and benefits, you must ask what other problems leave you feeling unfilled. Do not ignore those points.
