Resume haters are job applicants who would rather have a root canal without xylocaine than write — or revise — their resume. I do not understand their aversion, but it gave bloom to a cottage industry of resume writers who, for a fee, promise to produce an “optimized” resume that will dazzle the hearts of employers.
Here is the problem, a generic resume, optimized or not, will not earn as many points like the one you customized for the specific job.

The problem is that today when you apply for a job online, a machine, not a human, will be the first to review your resume. That little machine will be scanning your resume looking for specific keywords and phrases from that specific online job description. In the simplest of terms, every time it finds one, you earn a point. The more keywords the ATS identifies, the higher your score.
The higher your score, the more likely you will be selected to speak with the recruiter.
