In Part 2 of the interview questions, I want to share three questions you should ask during your site visit interview.

But first, here is a fact recruiters rarely disclose — the recruiting industry failure rate. The Corporate Executive Board, or CEB, a division of research powerhouse Gartner, reports that between 50 and 70 percent of the managers and executives recruited for a new company, or a new position, fail in less than 24 months.  Poor fit is a typical reason. There was a cultural disconnect. When it comes to the issue of fit and culture, most applicants are on their own.

Here are three questions you should ask the interviewers during your site visit:

  1. Why do you work here?
  2. Why do you stay here?
  3. Have you ever thought about leaving but then decided to stay?  Why?
