Most recruiters do not involve themselves in the Onboarding process. The absence of Onboarding principles in a search firm’s system is a characteristic of the “Transactional” search model that has been in use for more than 50 years and is still widely practiced today.
Transactional search is an “order filling” process. Clients tell the recruiter what they want and the firm’s junior recruiters fill that order with a panel of candidates. Transactional search is already showing signs that it is out of date as businesses adjust to the “new normal” economy. Studies show it is a hit-or-miss approach with costly consequences.
“Transformational Search” is a search model built on Onboarding principles and, if properly designed and implemented, will produce far better results. More cost effective results.
I encourage you to learn more about Onboarding and the benefits of incorporating this critically important practice into your search process.
