As you forward in your career, there is one constant truth with which you must deal:  there will always be robust competition for the best jobs.  To succeed, you must learn how to use storytelling, a powerful job interview tool that will help you win the position.

Storytelling is not just for senior executives. Whether you are a dishwasher, maintenance lead, or supervisor, you can use a story to reassure a prospective employer that you are the right person for the job. An hourly worker’s story can go something like this:

When you hire me, you will be getting an employee who is first and foremost about being accountable.  You will have an employee who shows up on time with a good attitude and who is determined to do things the way you want them done. You will get someone who cares about the success of the company.”

Be honest.  Be authentic and be reassuring.
